Homecoming Boredom

I forgot to post after getting home. I've been busy partying hard!

I got to the airport around 8am and and checked in and walked to my gate only to find out that they had switched gates that my flight was leaving from and that it would be leaving at 10:55am instead of 9:50am. So I walked all the way to the other side of the airport, and sat for two hours. My flight finally left at 11:30am and for the delay we received a complementary headset!

I arrived in Newark a little before 6pm and met Dori and Kathy after getting my bag. We had a fun ride to my house, chatting and laughing, they also got me some Rita's as a welcome back present. It was heavenly!! When I got home Jeffy was the only one home, so we partied til Becky got back from baby sitting, then partied some more!

Saturday I drove down to Freehold to pick Alex and Ben up from Trek and then waited up til 3 in the morning when my parents got home, then we partied.

I am loving being home minus the humidity making my hair go crazy. BUT I am bored out of my mind. So I might end up working more than I thought I would, just so I have something to do!!

Impatience...

I'm waiting. For it to be 3 o'clock. So I can embark upon my journey home.

I'm rather impatient in my waiting. I still have 2 1/2 hours. And I'm bored out of my mind.

I can't wait to see Dori and Kathy and chat with them for the ride home.

I can't wait to see my fam-damly...so we can party like rock stars.

I can't wait for hugs...and lots of them.

Golden Cake Prayer

I was going through my documents and found a bunch of pretty amusing poems that I had written for my British Literature class. I thought since my brain is fried from studying and too much thinking I would share a few. Please keep in mind that these were all written after like 2am.

Orange Gold
The crispy and constant crunching
The cheesy flavor sweet
Speaks to my taste buds beat
Of every quick swift munching
Into my hand, great piles are bunching
Which to be honest is quite the feat
But are you crispier than a beet?
How can I know? Without fist flying punching?
Sometimes it helps just to sit and think
And think back to the days of old
When all I had was a kitchen sink
And the world of Cheez-it's had yet to unfold
Uncovering caves of orange gold
To me you are better fitted than a mink.

Cheese Cake
Glory be to God for Jello cheese cake
It's simple and delicious, yet comes from a box
Found in the store next to puddings
Ready in an hour, no need to bake
Providing a natural full body detox
Of stress and life and ruddings

I have eaten you in just one sitting
Though my stomach begs me not to
But how can one resist such blessed food
When cheese cake simple and so fitting
Came in a box.

Prayer for My Daughter
Once more I dropped your bottle on the floor
It has fallen just under the refrigerator door
But you sleep on, more tired than famished
Into a sleep that Gerber could never garnish
But I'll hold you while you sleep, gently
Against my chest, so you can hear the beat
Of my heart, as I too drift off to sleep
I can hear you breathing quick but softly

While you sleep I send a prayer for you
If anyone is listening we'll see what they do
May you be granted beautiful calves
And faultless thighs, less than a halve
The size of mine, and motivation
May you be granted all you ever dreamed of
And be given someone to love, and I'll think of
The blessing of your wonderful creation.

Amazingly these are all modeled after Victorian to Modern era poetry, the second to last one is even supposed to be a sonnet I think. Anyways, I hope you enjoy my efforts to spread some laughter. : )

Spat-you-later

When I got home yesterday from hanging out with my family, I found the following on my pillow. Twas a goodbye note from Mr. Spatula (with lady lips) and a promise for a fast replacement. Little does a certain roommate know, but by accidentally melting my spatula in half and offering to buy a new one, she has done me a huge favor! Not to say it wasn't a great spatula....but it wasn't. ; )

I am soooo looking forward to getting home on Friday!! I once again will be journeying on my own from Newark to New Brunswick and will hopefully by Friday have some way of getting myself home from New Brunswick train station, seeing as my parents will be on the Trek when I arrive. I think Becky should drive the car to pick me up...but that's just a suggestion. : )

Anyways...here's to a fabulous Monday!

I am officially on the home stretch as far as school goes. I am hoping to be finished with all of my finals by Wednesday, so Thursday can be spent packing. since our apartments are being repainted over break we have to put absolutely everything in a box. Lame.

Yesterday I did my Personality final in class. Yes, the awesome one on Ace Ventura. And I totally kicked butt. Here are a few of the slides from my presentation:

It was a tantalizing presentation as I'm sure you can tell. Finishing this also means that for that class all I have to do is show up on Monday and Wednesday.

To close I wish you all a happy remainder to your weekend. I am off to see Harry Potter 6!!

The One Who Sold His Soul to the Sole

Step by step he makes his way across the walk to stop and stare blankly at the looming step before him. The crowd bumbles forth; shoes stepping, voices yelling. Yet he sits unscathed. I wonder if in traveling to such a place he had planned to journey with death. Or maybe it was just another trip to the grass that had brought him to this dangerous stair. Regardless his small frame still standing erect and his feet still scuffling against the cement, cool with the brisk morning air, proved that luck had certainly passed his way.

I pass and do not step on him either.

Countdown: 9 days

Shikaka Clue-down

There are only 11 more days until I'm home...yes, the countdown has officially begun. Thankfully this semester will close with significantly less work than my last one, but will still be busy. For my final project in Personality we were assigned to analyze a fictional character(s) according to the theories of someone we studied through out the semester. I will be giving my presentation Friday on how the Wachati tribe in Ace Ventura demonstrates 'external locus of control' (theory of Julian Rotter) in their superstitions and near worship of Shikaka. I'm pretty excited about it.

Tonight for FHE our group played a Clue Murder Mystery. I got the part of Mrs. White the maid/keeper of the house/butler. I was the third to be killed out of the group, and died by a mysterious stroke while on the toilet.

I think I was a pretty hott maid...its a shame I had to die in such a horrible place under such horrible conditions! I was surprised at how well we managed to pull it off, it was a little awkward and we let the killer kill us all, but it was fun. Now for homework and hydrating.

My Weekend in Pictures

To start off our wonderful weekend up at Darby Canyon, me and my fellow riders left later than everyone else so I could finish taking a test. We got lost but made it while there was still dinner out! Brother Baldwin snapped a picture of us just as we got out of the car we had been sitting in for two hours.

That night, there weren't any planned activities but most of us ended up sitting around the campfire for a while. I ate so many starbursts and marshmallows that I felt incredibly sick to my stomach!

The ladies slept in the main lodge that was there on the old church pews they used as seating. No they were not very comfortable. The boys got real cabins. Lame. This is me and friends getting comfy in our pew before watching Enchanted!

This is an outside shot of the main lodge while we are all waiting for breakfast. I woke up at 7am. I haven't been up that early in a very long time, which is probably why I came home and slept for almost four hours.

There was this crazy 35 ft slide just outside the lodge. It was crazy fun!

We thought it would be fun to go down as a foursome. And it was!!

The landing ended up a little rough, and with much saw dust down our pants. Our second time down as a a group one of us ended up with two sprained ankles (one worse than the other) because her feet ended up bent under her. That brought our fun to an abrupt end, as she headed off to the hospital and we headed home. It was a fantastically fun weekend though. It was nice to get a way from school for a while.

To close, an awesome roommate shot. Now you know why them boys just can't keep away! That by the way is my face of seduction. Yes...I am single far a reason.

Port-a-what?

Hahahaha...only $6 my friends. I love it...I think this might be my new favorite shirt right next to my Batman one. I think I'll wear it tomorrow.

Aside from wonderful t-shirt finds, I made $40 giving plasma today thanks to recommending a friend. My heart rate was just barely under 100 beats per minute, and I think it was only that low because the machine was acting up. But I made it through and I'm happy I did!

This week has flown by, but it's not over yet. I have test to take tomorrow and camping this weekend. Then the craziest 2 weeks of my life, but still only 16 days until I'm home!!

Cooling Nurosis Days

My apartment is now the only apartment in my entire complex with a AC unit. It seems that my roommates MS acts up when it gets too warm and so she convinced the managers to let her install one. Sa-weet! I think now my apartment will never be empty since it will literally be the coolest place to be!!

I also had fun with my camera today while I was falling asleep reading Problems of Neurosis by Alfred Adler for my personality class. This is me face down in my pillow trying to keep my eyes open. I also had fun with the lighting and coloring

I forgot to update you on the thyroid test, it came back normal, so while nothing serious is wrong with me, they are not sure what's going on. I'm just glad to have a clean bill of health and hopefully things will go back to normal on their own, and not get any worse! I am also excited that the semester is almost over. Only 16 more days!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMY!!

On this day approximately a million years ago, a wonderful woman was born to a wonderful couple in Idaho. And today she is the mother to 8 fantastic children and wife to a man even older than she is!

No...I kid. She is a fantastic mother and friend, and I am so grateful that she puts up with all of us and for the great example of patience and love that she been for me.

I love you Mom!!

Friendly Mohawk Weekend Fun

This has pretty much had the most perfect weekend of my life.

Thursday night my friend and old roommate Bri came up to visit me. It had been almost a year since I had seen her and we had fun catching up on our lives and just hanging out together. She spent the night Thursday and stayed most of the day on Friday.

After she left I was going to head to a Pirate themed girls night. We were supposed to dress up like pirates and be piratey while watching Pirates of the Caribbean. All the ladies thought it would be fun to put my hair in a mohawk, cause apparently that's piratey. Bri stayed to help for a little bit as they loaded large amounts of every product they had. Eventually we could only get it to sort of stay up with the addition of Elmer's Glue. I kind of ended up with a flophawk and a nice Elvis curl in the front. My friend took some better pictures, and I'll post those later.

I deffinetly went to Little Caesar's with my hair like this...I know...I'm awesome!

Then Saturday, my bishop invited us to join him for his family barbeque which was tastey and fun! The majority of the people there, at some point ended up in the pool fully clothed, but I managed to avoid it. Phew. After hanging out there I decided to see what Jitta (a friend from back home) was up to...and went over to her place and hung out with her and some of her friends.

Then I got talked into driving Jitta, and a few other friends down to Idaho Falls (in my roommates beat up car) to try and meet up with a group of friends who were already there. I printed out directions to the park where they were at, but the exit google gave me was blocked off so we got really lost. We wandered through crazy roads packed full of cars and people, and eventually gave up on finding them, parked, and watched the last 10min of the show. When I got home I figured out that we were really pretty far away from them the whole time. It was interesting to watch fireworks sitting next to a refugee from the civil war in Sierra Leone...her natural instinct anytime one went off was to duck. She especially freaked out when people would randomly shoot off fireworks in their front yards. I think she still managed to have a good time and I managed not to get a ticket or run over anyone!

Yes, it was a terrific weekend. I have a terrific group of friends that have been made while being out here at school and I am so grateful for their support and love. I also am way excited that there are only two and a half weeks left in the semester, I need a break!!

A Rexburgian Partay

So I was bored on my day off of classes and made this video, which shows off my cut a little better. The music was selected from my itunes...these songs both make me laugh. Enjoy!

Well I am going to party with some friends tonight and then I have a friend coming up hang out all day Friday, then Saturday my bishop is hosting a barbecue for all of us who are staying in Rexburg. Free food..I think so!

Oh, and my thyroid test wasn't done when I went in today, so I won't know anything until Monday. I hate waiting...and I had to get up at 8 on my day off to walk to the Health Center for nothing!

EKG it's easy as 1, 2, 3

For those of you who have looked at my facebook today this won't surprise you...but if you haven't you may want to make sure you are sitting down. Especially if I affectionatly refer to you as Mother or Father...

I got my hair cut...

a lot of it cut...very nearly all of it cut...

And I love it!! I'm not going to lie I had my moment of doubt after my friend had started cutting, but she pulled through! I have already enjoyed the fact that it takes such a miniscual amount of shampoo and that when its wet and shampooey I can make a mohawk. Everyone's reactions have been so fun...and thankfully no one has yet said...eww your hair cut sucks...so I think I'm good.

I also decided that since my heart rate hasn't really settled down from Saturday, that maybe I should get myself looked at. So I went in to the Health Center today (for the very first time I might add) and the doctor decided to do an EKG and a thyroid test to see if he could figure out what was going on. My heart rate on the EKG was fast but not abnormal, and I'll go in tomorrow to find out the results of the thyroid test. But until then I'll keep trying to get rid of the sticky nastyness from the electrodes off of everywhere and study for my British Literature test.
