Batman's New Meal Quest

This post is in honor of a new meal...that was fantastic, fast, and delicious.

(Yeah, you can't really tell there is spaghetti sauce in there unless you search for the little spices! You'll just have to try it and see for yourself!)

Thanks Scott for the amazing idea. One box of mac and cheese, instead of using milk or water to stir in cheese powder use spaghetti sauce!!

(April balancing all the ingredients, well not the egg, for our FHE treat.)

We were being a little goofy while she was trying to make blond brownies. she put so much grease on the pan that they tasted and looked like they had been deep fried! Delicious though. For our game in FHE we played signs...or the equivalent of any torturous game you may have been forced to sit through. Its humiliating, embarrassing, and not even all that fun! Next week we'll be playing volleyball...bring it on!!

I wore my glow in the dark batman shirt today for a little extra Tuesday boost. In English my teacher turned off all the lights to show a power point and there I was glowing for the whole world to see...it was pretty sweet. I'll have to wear it more often I think!

My maiden quest for General Conference tickets begins now...I wonder how successful I will be given that it is only 5 days away!!

Aristotle's Redundant Inhumane Redundancy

I pretty bummed...

I got myself all excited to be getting a new roommate only to come back from my statistics class to find out that as of right now all plans to switch rooms have come to an abrupt halt. Apparently something to do with the housing office not wanting Amber (roommate-to-be) to switch for some reason. And so the tale continues...

I really need to do laundry but I don't feel like actually putting in the effort to get it done. I mean the laundry room is all the way next door! Definitely too much work, but I think I can pull off one more out fit from my remaining clean clothes. How about a BYU-I hoodie and no pants?? With the 70 degree weather my lack of pants might balance out the huge sweater!!

I read this morning, Aristotle's "On Memory and Reminiscence." Basically Aristotle goes on for about 8 pages about how remembering and recollecting are different things. I figured out pretty quickly in my annotating that he was just saying the same thing over and over again just with different big words. I guess in 350b.c. that was being smart. My favorite bit of Aristotelian knowledge gained today, "...indeed as a rule, slow people have good memory, whereas those who are quick-witted and clever are better at recollecting." This statement, while slightly amusing, does make more sense after reading his eight ridiculously redundant pages.

(lol)
I also re-discovered just how inhumane students can be. Upon arrive my professor announced that his grandmother (and used to be primary caretaker) had passed away and that on Wednesday we would not be having class because he would be speaking at her funeral. Immediately after he said that you could hear a ripple of "YES!", "Sweet!", Awesome." How wrong is that!?!?

Cutting The Lazy Update

I cut my hair yesterday and I'm excited to see how it turns out. By that I mean really when I cut my hair I end up cutting it the whole next week too! Here is what it looks like at the end of a long day of trying really hard to be straight.

(This is my serious face)

Tomorrow I am going to try it in Lazy Mode. I think it is going to look fab. Even though I took off 2 1/2 inches its pretty hard to tell I did anything at all!

Courtesy of Cassie's facebook I have updated my last post with some more pictures of our adventures so be sure to check them out!!

I really don't have anything to say...wow...well I did flirt with a guy today, only to find out he is younger than me. Still though I don't usually flirt with anyone so it was kinda weird but oddly exhilarating. He was my home teachers home teacher so I don't know if I'll really be seeing him that often. He was really cute though!! Maybe this incident and my hair cut are related, I think I'll cut my hair more often...

Birthday Whoops Dairy Cake

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCOTT!!

Today was a very long and eventful day. It began with my accidentally being late for curfew early this morning. I was over at Bri and Shauna's watching Final Destination 2 and when it was over I looked at the clock only to realize it was 1:20...WHOOPS!! I made it back to my apartment without the notice of any RA's, go me!!

Then I woke up around 10 and washed some dishes and talked on the phone and didn't do home work. Then at 1 Scott and Casie picked me up (without stopping the car!!) and we went out for a birthday celebration at Reed's Dairy Farm in Idaho Falls. I unfortunately left my camera in the car for the ice cream eating and animal looking parts, but there are some pictures stolen from Cassie!!

(This is a wonderful depiction of our drive to Reed's Dairy Farm, please note the barren landscape. Just drive straight Scott...well until the Maverick.)
(That there building is where we got our eats. They was good. Mine was Maple Nut. No there was not a potato flavor)
(Birthday boy going to town on his double scoop cone...napkin?!?)

(This poor duck definitely had a feather stuck to its beak, and to make his day even worse we laughed at him and took pictures!)

(This was on our way home...I think we all were all sad to leave our fine whiskered friend!)

Then we went grocery shopping and then to Scott and Cassie's to make some wonderful carrot cake. While the cake finished baking Cassie and I went with some others to the Relief Society broadcast and I got to hold little Issac!! Then We ate cake and now I'm home procrastinating homework some more. Maybe I'll cut my hair.

Engaged Cake Balls Moving Dishes

I had a super busy day today, so for you on the east coast...sry you didn't get your Emily update!!

Where to start...how about here...

Apparently my room-roomie has decided to switch rooms (which I didnt even find out from her). Which means I will be getting a new room-roomie. The question is, is Emily upset with this...NO.

My reasoning....all of those dishes in the right sink are from her, most of them have been there for at least 3 days....yeah. Yes the other has my dishes and Aprils but the are all from today. But the worst thing is that that whole move isn't really happening until Monday so now it's just awkward. On a happier note, I got engaged!!

Just kidding, Cassie's Shower/Party was fabulously fun and I got this amazing ring from it!! I also got to consume fresh vegetables, other than baby carrots, for the first time in forever, and meet her hilarious roommates, both past and present. Then there were the Cake Balls. Delicious, oh man, and they even made me take some home...along with some apple juice and half of their veggie platter.

(Yummy Cake Balls!!!)

On my list for tomorrow is conquering the world, cutting my hair, and doing some homework. Oh wait, a dairy farm for ice cream too!!

Grey's Mafia Bridal Sneeze

I'm sorry that I did not give a spoiler alert on my last post. If you still haven't seen the latest Heroes episode don't read it!!

My day today was particularly random, I suppose a list will suffice.

- In Communications this morning we played Mafia (or Gadianton Robbers for those LDS readers). It was fun but took forever. We got down to six people, I was one of them, and we still had two murderers and no cop. Way to go us.

- While analyzing Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll is double sneezed. To clarify this is not a "Achoo- pause- Achoo" it is rather a "Achoo-choo." It was amazing not having to wait those few moments for the second sneeze to come.

- A girl in my English class had an asthma attack in class and we spent the first 20 min calling her roommate to bring her inhaler and all that jazz. The nice thing is that her comments in class really annoy me so I didn't have to deal with it today!! I do hope she is ok though!

- I was invited to a Bridal/Make Fun of Cassie Party on Friday the 27th of September. Yeah, that's what I said. I'll show up on Friday the 26th and hope the party is there!! I am also really nervous to RSVP cause I really only know Cassie!! And what to get her as a gift...any ideas Cassie?!?

- Well I'm off to bomb my first Statistics test and then enjoy two hours of GREY'S ANATOMY!!!

Confusing Heroes Curry Gaiken

I read last night that Clay Aiken is FINALLY coming out to the press as gay, according to People Magazine's October Cover. Like we didn't all already know!

I made the most fabulous dinner last night. It was heaven on a D.I. plate!! It was a spin off of my mothers Chicken Broccoli Casserole, basically the lazy version. I cooked a half cup of rice and some broccoli together in a pot on the stove for about 15 min. At the same time I was cooking some chicken seasoned with onions and salt and pepper. When the chicken had finished cooking I sprinkled it with curry and let it simmer.

(if you are not a fan of curry...please convert.)

When the rice was done I stirred in half a can of Cream of Chicken, some sour cream (thanks April!), some of the chicken, and some more curry. The result was this amazing blob of curry-fied goodness!!

(doesn't that look delicious!!)

I also watched Heroes the other day. I don't know if any of you are fans but it's been so long since the last season that I am lost beyond lost. Present Peter is in in some other mans body, future Peter is crazy. Suresh is turning bad guy on us. Sylar isn't as invincible as we thought. Craziest of all is Claire, who is border line suicidal even though she can't die. Shes pretty upset at this point and I think pretty liable to go evil on us at any point. No wait I lied, dead Niki is back as an identical Tracy Strauss?!? It's a shame I love a show I can't even follow!!

A Part Of ME Plumbling

So, a continuation of the plumbing story which I thought would end a 4:30 yesterday afternoon. After I posted yesterday, Maintenance Guy came in and told us that he wasn't going to be able to get the plug out so Real Plumber would be coming in about two hours. Our shower and toilet were at that point out of order , but for two hours we could handle it. At about 7 I decided it would be a good idea to get to work on my project (and I had to pee), so I headed down to campus to get myself started. As soon as I left FHE was decided so I missed that. But when I got home from working on it, the plumber still hadn't come and our bathroom was still out of commission, meaning no shower for me!! 20 min or so later Tiff (my room-roomie) walks out and peeks into the bathroom and notices that our tub now looks like this...

(the blue things are the super plungers that Maintenance Guy was using and left)

We turned off our bathroom vent (it kinda stunk) and could hear that someone was running water. Using our knowledge of plumbing and everything related to it we figured that must be cause the back up. I ran next door to see if they were running their water, only to have Maintenance Guy open the door. He had just been chilling waiting for Real Plumber and when we told him he quickly located the perpetrator (a girl showering in one of the upstairs apartments). Another 2o min or so later Real Plumber finally shows up and blows us all away with the amazing power of his Air Gun. No really that's what he used. After we scrubbed down the tub for yet another 20 or so minutes putting us now at around 11:30, I got to shower.

My project also turned out pretty good. Yes, it was all black and white but I turned that into a part of me so it looked like I had been really thoughtful and not just really cheap. This is my ME project...it think it is lacking considerably.

(I think if you click on the picture you get a bigger version)

Well, I'm off to conquer the world...or the world of literary criticisms anyway!!

My Phantom Plumbing Project

So I forgot until about an hour ago that I have this project due in my Communications class tomorrow. Basically I have to compose a collage, of sorts, about who I am. Without access to a color printer (and without using someones entire color ink cartridge) I'm afraid my project might be a little bland. Hmmm...maybe that says something about me.

In other news I'm very glad that I have begun taking showers at night because if not this might have upset me more...

Yes, that water came up from our drain apparently because of some issues going on with the plumbing in the apartment next to us. Thinking on the positive side, the cute maintenance guy is now past our "chastity line" and in our bathroom!! (note: I am blogging and not staring at him, A+ for self control!)

So I have tons of homework to do tonight, which I have to work around our phantom FHE (it might happen it might not, who knows where or when!!).

The Scary Camel And The Artist

Well, my body has sufficiently recovered from Friday's little mishap. I really hope that it doesn't happen again, because really that was pretty scary.

So in church today I got really pretty bored. During relief society I remembered this funny camel joke and since they had given us a handout I decided to draw one. Well, once I actually thought about it I couldn't remember what a camel looked like. So it looked like this...

I know that it is a little out of proportion but when my roommate saw it, she was like, "Is that a camel?!?" Anyways...thus ensued a camel drawing battle and I'm pretty sure mine wins because hers looks more like a Brontosaurus.
I afterward turned it into a Camel Motel, hence the windows, doors, and waste being emitted from is mouth. Anyway, When we got home we looked up picture of real camels and discovered that they are quite ugly. I also drew an amazing picture of a cow...Yes, I know...there is some serious talent there. Above the cow is another attempt at making a camel face, it really just looks like a horse. Anyone in need of an artist who does strictly farm animals?

Apparently the spirit felt I needed to learn more about camels. And after taking an online Camel Quiz and only getting 4 right out of 10 I think I do too.

My Chicken Is To Faint For

It all started when I cut my finger. As it turns out the back side on the blade of a knife can be just as sharp as the other. In my attempt to cook my self some chicken and cutting it into pieces with great vigor (do to it being frozen beyond frozen), I stopped cutting for a second and noticed that my finger was bleeding. I kept cutting until the blood was going to drip into my chicken then I turned it down so it could simmer while I got a band-aid. I thought it blog worthy at the time so I took a picture...

I know it isn't really even all that big, but when I went to wipe it off with my antiseptic towelette I got super nauseous and dizzy so I sat down with my head between my legs. I got the band-aid off the counter and put it on, and I felt ok so I went to the kitchen to check on the chicken. It had mostly thawed out at this point so I started cutting it up again (careful to avoid the sharp not sharp side). All of a sudden I got dizzy again so I put down the knife but by this point my eyes are all cloudy and closing involuntarily and I can't hear anything and my ears have started ringing. I sat down on the floor feeling like I was about to throw up.

I got out my phone to call someone (my roommates were both gone), but then I couldn't think of who to call. The only other time I have felt faint was after donating blood and my mom always had me drink juice or something with sugar in it. So I scooted myself over to the fridge also conveniently close to the garbage can as I still felt ridiculously close to throwing up.

For a refrigerator of three college students it was amazingly empty of sugar. All I saw that contained even a remote amount of sugar were two jars of jam and a small yogurt. I grabbed the yogurt (it wasn't mine) and a spoon and managed to choke it down without throwing up. My hands stopped shaking and started tingling. Remembering my chicken I reached over to turn off the stove.

I sat there without moving for a good 25 min. I didn't want to get up since I was still by myself, in case it happened again. But then I remembered my chicken and I realized it couldn't be good to have half cooked chicken sitting in a now semi-warm pan. So I moved one of the chairs over next to the stove so I could attempt to cook while sitting. It worked amazingly well.

A few minutes later April walked in and seeing her opened yogurt on the floor and me sitting while cutting my chicken she asked, "Emily, what are you doing?" I hadn't cried up until this point but actually having to talk to someone made me cry I guess. All i could get out was, "I'm sorry I ate your yogurt." End of a long story short, I was able to tell her everything, she had Neosporin for my finger, and I had wonderful chicken for dinner.

I was going to cut my hair last night but I figured spending at least an hour with my head upside down probably wasn't a good idea.

(This was how it looked this morning)
This morning I woke up nice and early so I could walk to Broulims before it got warm out. It drizzled on my walk there and was pouring when I came out of the store. Thankfully a very nice couple gave me a ride home. I said thank you so many times I think they were very glad when I got out of their car.

The Most Desirable Nothing

Emily's list of "Most Desirable Men":

1) Tarzan (animated)- He loves the out doors and has a place in his heart for animals. He is in great physical shape and is a natural born romantic. He is incredibly strong and full of compassion. While communication might be a little difficult, in what relationship is it not?

1) Batman (Christian Bale)- Not only is he good looking but he is also super rich. He has great dedication and devotion to things he is passionate about. He has the confidence and courage to overcome his fears, and the inherent desire for good. The obsession with dressing in spandex is just a phase I'm sure!

1) Jim Carrey- Fun and enthusiastic, intelligent and handsome, this guy has it all! He is also blessed with a great sense of style and amazing hair. His humorous nature is something to be sought after and his love for animals is unending. He comes complete with endless entertainment and a dozen or more goofy faces.

Honorable Mention: Antonio Banderas, Jason Mraz, Mr. Clean, and Brian Littrell

So given the fact that I have gone 19 years without any notice from any guy, I have determined that it has been because I have yet to meet any of the previously listed men. I am sure that they would be willing to ask me out for a night on the town or even over for dinner...they just haven't been given the chance.

On that note, what do I have planned for this weekend???? Absolutely nothing.

The Sleeping Treadmill And The Compliment

Walking home from class today I had the strangest question pop into my head. Do bees sleep at night? Walking on campus there are bees every where, helping to pollinate their attempt at greenifying a desert. This popped into my head because I happened to be walking back at 10 or so at night and there were no bees when normally there would be tons. It wasn't a vague idea or a glimmer of a thought it was THERE. Almost like I was recalling a line from a movie or something someone had asked me. To ease your curiosity as I did mine, no bees do not sleep they go back to their hives and remain mostly motionless to build up their energy for the next day. Basically they sleep without sleeping...LUCKY!!

Another random occurrence...today in Comm. we were talking about complimenting people and how they and we react. We were then assigned to randomly compliment three people before class on Tuesday. That should be fun...I complimented kids at work all the time but they were not sincere compliments at all. "I really like the way Sean is cleaning up the block area," Emily says as Sean continues to build with his friends. It is a great motivation for children though. "I really like they way my friends are sitting quietly waiting for snack!" More often than not they would follow along, but sometimes I just stood there like an idiot.

For those of you who are looking to knock off a few pounds but love to sit at your computer all day, consider this. A treadmill desk:

Walk five miles while watching the Big Brother finale (WOOT for the person who wins but I wont say their name cause I don't want to spoil it), emailing friends, stalking people on Facebook, or updating your blog. I mean has greatest-pastime-ever met loose-a-few-pounds or what?!?

100% Effective 4 Step Statistics

I have discovered the best way to do my hair. It involves 4 easy steps:
1. Shower right before going to bed
2. Rub hair dry enough so it is not dripping
3. Sleep 8 wonderful hours
4. Before leaving for the day give a few spurts of hairspray pull front back with bobby-pins

The results are obviously amazing...

(This is my attempt to out do Zoolanders "Blue Steel")

(Check out those luscious curls and muscular arms holding the camera you can't see)

Yes, I know...it is amazing. I do want to cut my hair but I'm afraid my lazy style won't work anymore and I'll have to go back to straightening it.

Anyway enough about my hair. In my statistics class today, my professor shared some statistics that we don't often think about:
1. 50% of all the people you meet are below average
2. 75% of people wash from top to bottom in the shower
3. 1/2 of the world population has Emily kinghorn shrines in some area of their homes
4. 68% of all statistics are made up on the spot

I love my professor for this class he is super silly...today instead of asking us to get out our calculators he told us to get out our Weapons of Math Instruction. It's the little things in life that make the biggest difference.

CoverGirl's Middle Class Cookies

Last night was our first FHE this semester. Our wise bishop chose to have the men arrange this first meeting. We didn't hear from them at all, so I assumed that we just weren't going to have it at all. So at 7:30 last night while I was working tirelessly (watching a movie) at the Ricks, one of my roommates calls me to say that the guys showed up and that I should join them. After I got there we played one round of "What if", had a super short spiritual thought, some cookies, and left. I don't even know any of their names. I do now know that it was one of my "sisters" who borrowed and has yet to return my 1/3 cup measuring cup...

Today in my communications class we all got face cards taped to our foreheads and we had to interact with people based upon their number or royalty without telling them what they were. It was pretty interesting how fast people were able to assume a group. The aces and royalty clustered together on one side of the room refusing to talk or touch any one else and the low numbers all sat down and didn't really interact. Those of us in the middle, were just in the middle. I think it was pretty hard for people to know how to distinguish a 5 from a 7 or a 10 so we were just ignored. I honestly had no idea what to say, so said nothing at all, but found it amusing to watch. This was also at 8 in the morning, and it took me most of the time to understand why I was branded with a 7 of clubs, but it all makes sense now!!

I learned today (thanks to Yahoo News) that Michelle Pfeiffer is 50!! I also learned that Ellen Degeneres (who is 50 as well) will be the new face of CoverGirl.

(Michelle Pfeiffer...I cannot believe this woman is 50!!)

Better Than A Skunk Shower

Today I felt particularly blessed not to be a skunk with my head stuck in an Italian Salad Dressing Jar. No matter how much I may feel like one, I am not. I may be stuck in a closed minded ridiculously conservative town in Idaho. I may not have taken a shower this morning and therefore stink a little. I might walk by myself. I may even have no idea where I'm going. But some how I still feel I have it better off than that poor little guy.

P.S. = Procrastination Society

Last night my roommate and I watched P.S. I Love You, which is one of the cutest movies in the world. I cried through pretty much the entire thing! I really recommend you watch it so you can cry too.

So this has been my life recently...I find it is much easier to just hit the procrastinate button then to get busy!! I did try watching a video on youtube today, but waiting 30 min for a 3 min video to load, just wasn't working for me.
Tonight I am headed over to Scott and Cassie's new apartment for a "House Warming Party" which will of course include dinner and the ultimate of fun times. After that Cassie and I have a Stake Relief Society Fireside on visiting teaching.

My Very Own Shupification

So last night was AMAZING!!! The band was incredible and I have tons of pics to share!! I was really far back so sorry about the blurriness and they also didn't really hold still...

The lighting was awesome...it was a constant plethora of beautiful colors!!

This is the best close up that I got. Ryan is the one with a mandolin for a head.

I just liked this one...the crane camera was kinda annoying...flying all over the place.

The angelic glow!
This was taken post Shupification...note the smiles and obvious signs

of pure contentment.

Manifesto of The Rubber List

So, nothing exciting has happened today...but...I do get to bask in the glory of the Rubber Band tonight so I am pretty excited about that.

This weekend I have tons to do.

- two statistics problems, averaging an hour each (Mon.)
- two reflective journal entries on two poems (Tues)
- read and annotate two church talks (Tues.)
- Read "Ozymandias" and "My Last Duchess" (Tues)
- Read 29 pages out of my Literary Criticisms book (Tues)
- Read "The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism" (Mon.)
- Study and learn the theories of the early Greek philosophers (potential Quiz Mon.)

I also need to do some shopping...which may or may not happen...
- Ziploc bags
- cooking spray (never realized how much I used it until I didn't have any)
- ranch dressing (a will-not-spoil-as-quickly replacement for sour cream)
- Mac & Cheese (cause when I make it, it tastes good!)
- Granola (my strawberry yogurt is lonely)
- Cheese (I thought I wouldn't use very much of it but really I think I would)
- Milk (I very nearly consumed an entire gallon in a week)

Last night I was torn between whether to read the assigned excerpt from Karl Marx's Manifesto or read through the chapter for my History and Systems of Psychology class. Unable to decide I turned to one wiser, stronger, and more attractive than myself...

(he is almost squishing Socrates' head!!)

He however told me that instead of going to school I should inherit all the wealth and class of my father and spend that wealth frivolously on bullet proof bat ears and wings made entirely without polyester.
I read the first few sentences of the Manifesto...
"The history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles. Freeman and slave, patrician and plebeian, lord and serf, guild master and journeyman, in a word, oppressor and oppressed, stood in constant opposition to one another...."
and I fell asleep...but still managed to get a 21/20 on the quiz about it in class today!!

Shupe My Uterus In A Quesadilla

I have been fighting all day today, the strong urges to rip out my uterus. The only thing stopping me from doing so is the hope of someday being able to bear my own children. Oh, then there's the fact that I only own one knife sharp enough to do the job, and it is currently covered in raw chicken from my quesadillas last night, and I don't feel like washing it. But really how is a girl supposed to function in this condition?!? I vote for sleeping and eating the rest of the week...classes can wait for me.

On a happier note, Ryan Shupe and the Rubber Band are coming to campus tomorrow as a welcome back for all the students....and I am BEYOND excited!! I managed to convince one of my roomies to go with me even though she has never heard of them before. BTW if you haven't heard of them either check out http://www.shupe.net/ ...pictures are bound to come.

Well back to listening to the wonderful Jason Mraz and another hour and a half of Statistics!!

Manic Blah Unicorns

Today was not particularly exciting. Classes were blah, walking up and down the same hill was blah, my scrambled eggs this morning were even blah (too much milk and not enough salt).

But, that was all made better by my discovery that unicorns really do exist...

I never would have thought of Unicorns as one horned albino deer...but they do seem to fit the cut!

I also happened upon a list of "mania's" today and found it to be quite eye opening. Even though this particular list was not all inclusive I found that I fell under more than a few categories. Perhaps you do as well.

phaneromania- excessive nail biting
sophomania- delusion that one is incredibly smart
opsomania- abnormal love for one kind of food (LASAGNA!!!)
clinomania- excessive desire to stay in bed

Spud Lady And Her New Kitchenware

Yesterday after my last class of the day, I decided to walk to D.I. for some much needed kitchen supplies. The walk there wasn't bad for being a mile and a half in 70 degree weather. I called my mom on the way there, and was pleasantly surprised to have my dad be right there too. During the phone call he insisted on calling me Spud Lady. A most affectionate nickname, thanks Dad!!
I did find most of what I needed even though my shopping was cut short by the fact that D.I. apparently closes early on Mondays because of Family Home Evening. Who would have thunk!?!? Even though I was rushed I did successfully find:

- 4 plates (2 of each pattern)
- 1 glass bowl
- 4 small spoons
- 1 big-ish spoon
- 4 forks
- 2 butter knives
- 1 wooden spoon
- 1 pasta spoon
- 1 awesome purple strainer
- 2 mixing bowls

And this was all for the amazing price of $11.60!!! I also today received the addition of a pink fork, spoon, and knife, thanks to the wonderful Cassie!! They will be welcomed into their new family with as much love and appreciation as can be given.
The walk home was super long. Not only was it entirely uphill but I also was burdened with my excellent finds. I made it home in 30 min with very sore legs and an intense craving for spaghetti (that I could cook easily now with my new strainer). After a long warm shower and a plate of warm spaghetti and garlic/onion seasoned chicken I attempted homework.
It was a heavenly evening minus the insanely tedious statistics homework that put me to sleep!! Here's to hoping I can stay awake for the other 15 problems tonight...

Rexburg Fun!

Classes began today and that brings with it all the hustle and bustle, getting lost, searching for mysterious room numbers, pretending you care who the person next to you is, multiple syllibi and trying to remember which professor it was who said attendance wasn't mandatory. But with two classes down and only one more to go for today, I think this semester may turn out okay.

My new apartment is something else though...

This is the kitchen that is supposed to have room enough for 4 girls to store food, pans, other assundry cooking devices, and actually cook. You'll note that you cannot even see the refrigerator which is behind my roomie and within an arms reach of the stove. It has a gas stove and oven and an electric vent that sounds like a vacuum. The sink leaks, so those two nice big cupboards are currently filled with nothing. This morning in an attempt to make my breakfast (fried hockeypucks, an egg, and yogurt) I on multiple occasions became uncomfortably close to my newest roommate whom I have only known for a few days. I felt bad though because I knew she was in a hurry to get to class and no matter where I moved I was in her way again!!

This is where my pans are stored, atop our wall mounted microwave. My pans were however an amazing Wal-Mart deal. $20 for 4 stainless steel pans and glass lids!! I was very proud to have found them.

This is the closed off part of the bathroom...not including sinks and such. Yes the toilet is only inches from the tub and yes it is a little hard to dry off in there. That toilet has already broken once this semester. I can only hope that its health doesn't take a plunge and that we've got all the problems flushed out!

This is the sleeping side of the room. The beds are conveniently only feet away from each other so of course if one occupant rolls over in the night the other one wakes. You may note how dark it is...no it wasn't that late when I took the picture, that lamp and the window are the only sources of light for that side of the room. Batman is safely out of storage and on my bed if you can pick him out...he wasn't too upset with me either.

These are our desks wonderfully manufactured and already very cluttered. Do you see that tiny lamp on the far desk. That is the only light on that side of the room. Oh, and the middle drawer is not functional and the bottom one squeaks load enough when you open it to wake he whole apartment. I have yet to do any decorating...I promise I'm really not that boring.

With that said...I shall finish my PB&J while attempting the impossible...watching videos on youtube...
